These are my /etc/inittab entries. I would try adding a baud rate to the
mgetty line.

# Dialup lines
#d1:45:respawn:/sbin/agetty -mt60 38400,19200,9600,2400,1200 ttyS0 vt100
#d2:45:respawn:/sbin/agetty -mt60 38400,19200,9600,2400,1200 ttyS1 vt100
# Uncomment for BBS and Dial-in
#d3:2345:respawn:/sbin/uugetty ttyS2 9600 vt100
S2:2345:respawn:/sbin/mgetty ttyS2 -D /dev/ttyS2

init q Re-reads inittab without rebooting

the reason is that because my BIOS only recognizes 8GB and the Win98
fdisk also shows me only 8GB, i decided to use the linux fdisk for
partitioning the HD.

Hi folks,

"Grand Prix Legends" by Papyrus (http://www.papy.com/) is arguably
the best windows-only racing simulation available to date. Even
though it is more than two years old no other racing simulation has
yet managed to match the depth of the car physics available with
GPL, or the pure excitement when racing human opponents over the
internet.

Because of this a Linux port of "Grand Prix Legends" would add
greatly to the ever growing portfolio of Linux games; at its age it
should not be too hard to persuade Sierra / Papy into maybe handing
out the port to some third party like Lokisoft, maybe adding a
couple of features here and there in the process and releasing it as
GPLII.

If you would like to see a great racing simulation for the Linux
platform please point your browser to

http://www.schuerkamp.de/cgi-bin/sign.cgi?function=list

and add your name to 300+ signers to date.

Thanks in advance for your time,

Hello,
I am trying to get Caldera Open Linux 2.3 to work with my Windows NT
Domain using Samba 2. I am getting an error "Network is Unreachable" when
trying to join the domain.

What I am using is: I have a NE2000 ISA Network card on IRQ 10 which is
working just fine to hit the internet and also to ping the local domain
controller. I have eth0 setup as 10.0.0.1 subnet 255.255.0.0 and then a
virtual IP eth0:0 as x.x.x.x subnet 255.255.255.248. I can ping both IP's
and can also access the Webmin on both IP's. In my LMHOST file I added
10.0.0.2 _____ which is my domain controller which is also on the same
subnet mask. I have read anything and everything that I can get my hands
on to no avail. Any help would be appreciated.

Is there a way to run a Linux box as an email server, and have remote
users use their Windows based web browser to access their email? The email
needs to live on the server, and the users can view and/or delete their
messages remotely. The key here is using just a Windows based web browser,
and not a typical mail client. And though I love PINE, in my particular
case, it will not work. Thanks.

Greetings Mike, others have given you some good advice as far as the
dmesg command goes, but here is something you may want to try.

When the bootup is complete and you're sitting at the login prompt, hit
the right <shift> and <pg-up> or <pg-down>. It must be the right shift
key and then page-up or down will scroll all the way back to the beginning
of the boot process.

sed -e 's/\(^.* \)\(.*@[^ ]*\)\( .*$\)/\2/'

Try that one out. The first one doesn't work because regexps are
greedy and .* matches... well, everything up to and including the end of
the line here. "man perlre" for a more than you ever wanted to know
about regexps.

Although I support your cause, I can't really see it happening... GPL
sold poorly as a windows game, and I doubt Sierra will see much profit
in porting it to linux. As for giving the source to someone else I doubt
that too as the physics engine is still the class of the field and will
be used in Nascar4 and probably several other Sierra/Papy sims in the
future, and they don't want to give away the source to that...
Why not try to get a linux port of World Sport Cars? I think that has
more chance of success, as West has shown interest in porting it to
other formats.

BTW you don't increase the credibility of the petition by signing it
several times yourself...

Hi

I have a gcc application which needs to read and write a serial port and I
just wanted to understand the best method for doing this.

Currently I have two threads - one which uses fread() to read the port
this blocks until data is received ) and another to write the port.

The other thread writes to the port by opening a new stream pointer with
fopen(), writing the data and then fclosing. Data being read from the port
is totally independent of the write.

Would this write ever interfere with the blocked read ? Is this method
acceptable ? It seems to work okay.

Thanks

There's also a _very_ beta utility called "QTGantt" currently being
developed. Can't remember the URL but try searching for it all the same.
It seems to aim to be a MSProject clone, but with beta-tester input may well
turn out better!

I believe the kernel was developed from scratch with POSIX compliance in
mind.

Have you tried running "XF86Setup" or "xf86config" to configure support
for your video card?

Search for "web mail" on http://freshmeat.net/

I can't recommend any one in particular since I've never set
this up.
