Unrelated, but what's the purpose of putting /bin/true there? You sure
would want to detect whether "modprobe ide_generic" failed.

These line works for me:
$ cat /etc/modprobe.d/bla.conf
install bla echo "bla"
install serio_raw echo "serio_raw no more"; /bin/true

There's no module named "bla"
There's a module named serio_raw.

$ modprobe bla
bla
$ modprobe serio_raw
serio_raw no more

It should be already supported. Please run with the following command
(check if it's adding your /etc entry to config -- did you name the
file something.conf?):
modprobe -vvvvvvvv  ide-controller
