1. Did you unmount the floppy in Linux first (good luck if you have
"supermount" :))?
2. Do you really have a floppy drive (/dev/fd0) because if you have a
Superdisk or LS-120 drive, you don't really have a floppy drive -- you have
an ATAPI IDE drive like me (and you would have to have $_floppy_a="atapi"
instead)?
3. Is your floppy a DOS or vfat floppy?

Other than that, I'm out of ideas.  What error message does DOS give when
you
try to access it?
Anything in boot.log?
