The below text is 100% correct. In our office, with Hog set to 1 (the slowest setting) printing took 60 seconds or so.
I set everyone in the office to 5 and I set the people who write the checks to 8. ;-) That got printing down to about 15-20 seconds for the people set to 5 and 3-4 seconds for the people set to 8. It made a dramatic difference. If you have someone in your office that you'd like to get on their good side, set them at 10 and tell them not to tell anyone. They'll be so happy and you can re-enforce the "all powerful and loving sys-admin" persona that staff used to have for IT people. (uhh... I guess I'm assuming you're in a multiuser environment and your users don't know about the .dosemurc file) > but it only takes about 1% when this program runs (or > even prints). And this can be the the reason why you have slow execution or slow printing: dosemu is not allowed to pass alot of CPU power to the dos app. Try allowing dosemu to hog CPU and see if it helps. To do that, you should set $_hogthreshold to 0. - Matthew Nuzum followers.net <http://www.followers.net>
