Do you mean "xterm" or "konsole" by console? I think Stas thought you meant one of the vc's you can get to by pressing Ctrl-Alt-F1,...,F6 (usually) from X. If you run xdos from such a vc it will say: ERROR: X: Can't open display "" > eip: 0x0822b004 esp: 0xbffff86c eflags: 0x00010206 Your compilation should produce a file bin/dosemu.map where you could hopefully look up at which function this happens (0x0822b004 is between ? and ?)
