Still playing with that "Sherlock" game, and I have two more questions.
First, the speed ... on my home machine it is quite slow, and I remember that I'm supposed to change "hogthreshold" in dosemu.conf. Well, this install did not create such a file. I found files from older versions I had apparently installed at some time (like 0.99), and copied the file to .dosemu/conf, and set hogthreshold to 0 (the comment says that gives dosemu the most CPU) but it doesn't seem to help. Any other way of goosing the program speed? Second, sound. This program does not use a sound card, but running native it gives various beeps on the pc speaker - under dosemu it is silent. Can anything be done about that? And now, another game - ISC (Interstellar Space Command). It is compiled Basic, and as such uses the old BASRUN.EXE. Under dosemu, it can't seem to find it (it is right in the current directory), it says it can't find a:basrun.exe, enter new drive. Using "d:" doesn't work, nor does putting the file on a floppy and entering "a:". Any ideas?? Jim Hartley (And lest any of the more serious users who are trying to get Novell going ask, yes, my MAIN reason for wanting dosemu is a bunch of old DOS games). - To unsubscribe from this list: send the line "unsubscribe linux-msdos" in the body of a message to [EMAIL PROTECTED] More majordomo info at http://vger.kernel.org/majordomo-info.html
