parallel ports and dongles

Sorry to bother before having finished the documentation.  I'm trying to
wade thru and get it all read and understood.

I have an application that runs in DOS that looks at the parallel port
for a security key.  Has this been tested and does it work in dosemu? 
If so, I'm home free: I want to ditch Win9x and go to a real OS for
stability...  If not, I have to upgrade to NT for the same reason, but
with anticipated worse results.
