Has anybody any advice on this problem?

XFree86-75dpi-fonts-3.3.5-3

'xdos &' in an xterm produces this error:
ERROR: X: Unable to open font "vga"ERROR: , trying "vga"...
ERROR: X: Unable to open font "vga"ERROR: , trying "9x15"...
For some reason, xdos can't find the vga.pcf font file. The file is
located in '/usr/X11R6/lib/X11/fonts/misc/'.
I have done the following:
1. Made sure '/usr/X11R6/lib/X11/fonts/misc/' is listed in the
'/etc/X11/fs/config' file.
2.In the '/usr/X11R6/lib/X11/fonts/misc' directory, run 'mkfontdir'
3.run 'xset fp rehash'
4.restarted 'xfs'
A www.deja.com search indicates that others have encountered this problem,
but I've already tried to the best of my ability the advice given. Why
can't 'xdos' find the 'vga' font?
