Hi folks --
I've been looking for a way to connect a single PC to my homenet ala
wireless. At first I thought I'd look at wireless ethernet, but apparently
that is for connecting many wireless clients to a single wireless hub; too
rich (and unnecessary) for me.
About the closest thing I've found so far is Diamond's HomeFree
peer-to-peer wireless ethernet. This is a very proprietary device it
seems.
Does anyone happen to have any more specs on this? Perhaps what chipset it
uses, and if Linux supports it? Actually, any details would be great;
their pages are a bit lacking in detail.
Or, if anyone has any others suggestions, I'd take them, too. All I'm
trying to do is to add another machine to my large homenet but without
running a wire across the floor, through the door, across another floor,
through another door, etc...
How about something that comes in pairs, and just provides an RJ45 port
that I plug an existing ethernet adapter into (and the otherside would
plug into my hub)? Does anyone know if something like THAT exist? (and
under the $400 mark, too).
As always, I appreciate it ....
G'day!
