No, of course not :-)
Just make sure you use the same:
1. lock files location (/var/lock/
--> will show locks in there as: 'LCK..ttyS2' for example)
2. devices (/dev/ttySxx)
in all dial-in and dial-out programs though ( /var/lock/ttySx.. ),
and all should be fine.
