I'm assuming you're using inittab and agetty to do your dial-in? The only
thing I can think of is maybe sed'ing your inittab to remove the waiting
tty, running 'init q' to reload inittab, dialing out, then sed'ing the
line back in, 'init q' again, and so forth... should be pretty easy to
script, i think.
