Your message describing your problem is a little unclear. If I read it
correctly you get this error message when you attempt to fire up nslookup
interactively.
It that is the case (and your using nslookup on the nameserver and not on a
client), then you'll want to check a couple of things. First, your resolver
should be configured to use 0.0.0.0 as a nameserver (I forget why, but you're
not supposed to use 127.0.0.1). Second, you'll want to verify that your reverse
(PTR) records are present and correct.
If you haven't already done so, I would suggest purchasing "DNS and BIND" by
O'Reilly. I have a copy on my desk that I couldn't bear to be without.
