I noticed a ppp problem with the kernel 2.2.7.
I use pppd 2.3.5. After establishing a
connection, the log says,
May 9 01:00:41 yaw modprobe: can't locate module ppp-compress-21
Now I see there're only 2 actual .o modules for
ppp, ppp.o and ppp_deflate.o. I have the first
one built in the kernel. The second is in
/lib/modules/2.2.7/net, and my System.map is
correctly copied from /usr/src/linux after make
modules_install from there.
What can be the cause of the problem? I checked Y
for CSLIP compressed headers, but the config help
says Y is always safe. Is it relevant?
