With 56K/x2/v.90 modems the 56K connection is only downstream from your
ISP only. The upstream max. is ~33.6K this is a limitation of the all
56K technology. It has to do with digital to analog and analog to
digital conversions (see the 3Com/USR site for more info). This is a
limitation of all 56K/x2/V.90 modems not just USRs.
