hi

i am working on a linux project and need some help on certain configuration and
administration issues

we are new to linux
hope you would try to look into them or forward them to a suitable place.

we had installed RedHat Linux 5.2 kernel 2.2 from the pcquest march 99 cd. After that
i also ran the pcqupdt script provided in the cd for enabling internet gatewaying and
other updates.

after that smtp and pop3 are working fine and we are able to configure and use the
mailserver using ms-outlook client on different machines on the local network.
apache server is also working in default configuration

we have a leased line of 64kbps from vsnl

problem 1: we have to provide the mail service to 3 more sites (LANs)- geographically
apart and connected through dialup lines to the main server (linux server)
How do i configure this arrangement.

problem 2:
we want the users of linux to be seperate and users of mail service to be different?
we want that mail server should have a seperate list of users and they donot have
access to the linux server through telnet or ftp service or otherwise.

problem3: we also want to create three groups of users (each group containing users of
each site) on the mailserver and that the corresponding mails for respective groups be
automatically transferred/received to/from the respective sites on connecting to the
mailserver.

problem 4 : how do i create a post office address book on the server containing all
the users of the three groups and their passwords etc.

problem 5: Similar is the case with apache webserver

we want to provide internet access over the local LAN to the restricted set of users
with their user name and password and machine ip as authentication.

here also webserver/internet users and linux users are to be diffrent.

How do i do all of these.
