There is a tool called "fake", available in sunsite.unc.edu.
I couldn't remember the version number (could be 1.0 or 1.1).

This toolkit is for the purpose of take over an IP address within a
broadcast LAN (Ethernet) without having any down time, not for stealing
other mahcines IP address. (but achives the same goal)

I've try this tool kit before, from a Linux machine. I can take over
WinNT, Win95, or Linux machines without any problem. But I can't take over
an SunOS and Solaris machines IP address.

I still don't have much time to find out why and fine tune on that.
Probably someone in this list can answer how "fake" works and point out
why I can't take over a SunOS or Solaris IP address.

The "fake" is simple to install and run.
