It's 10base2, connected with the T piece direct into the card, and a terminator
on each end. The hardware seems ok, as if I use the msdos based diagnostics,
on the disc withthe card, it sets up a host one end and a slave the other, and
fires packets both ways, this asses without dropping any packets either way,
suggesting a software problem.

I've already done that, it made no difference :(
