How do I get RedHat 5.2 to communicate with my 3Com Megaherts 10/100
Ethernet card on a Compaq Armada 1700?
I have tried to find the PCMCIA/CardBus "options" when configurating a new

you could forward port 25 another host. I haven't done this, but it should
solve your problem.

Note anyone who reads the Linux HOWTO on Cable Modem's for OptOnline
setup. It will NOT work. Just put the card into your box and the card for
DHCP and unplug the power and CAT-5 from the cable modem. Restart Linux
and after the BIOS testing and all that plug the CAT-5 and power back
into the modem. Your all set now. If anyone has a problem feel free to
e-mail me. I'll probably resubmit an updated HOWTO soon enough. And how
to do the login in stage once they re-enable it.

Apparently the units of the timeout are seconds.
The 'ipfwadm -M -s 10000 10000 10000' command

Try setting up Samba, there is a good tutorial in the linux section of
http://www.irt.org
This will allow you to share files and folders/directories with both the
linux box and any other computers on your network
Hope that helps

Another option is to enable virtual user table lookups, and just redirect mail
addressed to a different domain to another mail box. What I like about this
approach is that you don't have to maintain multiple user accounts, or mail
boxes, and it is extremely simple to add aliases as well, like webmaster,
etc., for a standard user account.

Why do not you just use knfs related packages from rawhide.redhat.com?

Substitute address or IP for your site. This works fine and all you have to

Hi,

I already posted this to the maintainer ([EMAIL PROTECTED])

kppp only works with the root user.
I can't get it to work with another one.
When i try it, the file /root/.kde/share/config/kppprc becomes empty
(though the configuration was correct for root). And if i try to add
setup myself, i got a message stating that pppd cannot be launched and
that is maybe due to kppp not having suid permissions.
kppp and pppd have their setuid bit set.

I too am running a Linux server with IP Masquerading. My server has an IP
address of 198.162.1.1 but I use 127.0.0.2 for local and 127.0.0.3 for
remote in the diald.conf file. I'm not sure it makes sense to use the
same IP address for both the local and remote settings in the diald.conf

Thanks for the suggestion. I did double check this just to make
sure and as I suspected networking was already enabled (although
ypbind was not). I enabled ypbind and tried rebooting. The network
still does not come alive on its own and now I get an warning during
bootup because it can't bind. However, I'm sure this problem would
go away if the network was starting up properly.
I'm not an expert on this, but doesn't the fact that the S10network file
exists in the /etc/rc.d/rc3.d directory imply that linux is setup to start
the network on bootup? In any event, linuxconf says that it I am
configured to start the network.
I can stop the network manually and then restart it and then everything
is fine. It's almost as though the linux is trying to start the network out
of the proper sequence or something. Would a look at /var/log/dmesg
help?
