Sorry about those posts, I don't know what happened. Anyways, I emailed you
directly
the logfile output from mgetty. I "think" it worked, but I don't know that it
was because
of anything I changed.
The only thing I did differently was tried using the ppp account instead of
the shell account
login. Let me know if the logfile output looks okay or not. Thanks for your
help.

after running for 60 days or so without a hitch, I am having problems
communicating via my T-1. Below is a small tcpdump showing an http request
for a small file. The problem seems to be that my machine 209.101.170.94 has
allowed the connection to close, even though it does not have all of the
data. I am running Redhat 5.2 with 2.0.36 kernel. Not sure what parameters I
can configure to perhaps allow more time for remote host to resend the data
that is missing from my tcp communication. I believe I may be having a
problem with my internet connection, but if I can make my system more
reliable with proper tuning, I would like to get that taken care of as well.
