Hallo Leute,

ich bin gerade dabei Majordomo auf nem Linux - Server(6.1 SUSE) zum
laufen zu bringen.
Soweit luft alles.

Nur wenn jemand ne Mail an die Liste schreibt, kriegt ich als list-owner

folgende Fehlermeldung:

550 :include:/var/lib/majordomo/lists/hsg... Cannot open
/var/lib/majordomo/lists/hsg: Group writable directory
Message delivered to mailing list hsg-outgoing
554 hsg-outgoing... aliasing/forwarding loop broken

Was mache ich falsch?

mfg Daniel

I made the directory /var/spool/lpd/lj and currently it has chmod 666.

Here is my hosts file for ALL the Linux computers on the network:

Here is the hosts.lpd file from the Printer Server:

128.1.0.3 003 003.lowtech.net

I have not finished this yet as I have only been trying to get this one
machine printing before going mad.

This works fine when printing via Samba (all the Win95 comps can print
perfectly) or just standard LPD (the printer server can print files spooled
from itself).

However when I try to send a file from another Linux computer it just say
"Waiting for queue to be enabled on Printer".
Printer is of course the Printer Server and is defined in hosts.

I am also getting the message "Printer: lpd: raw: Your host does not have
line printer access".
Why?

I would strongly suspect harware faults, not modem faults.
You could rtry reinstalling the system to ensure tht there wa snot some
bad files,

What Kernel are you using? I used to have this problem but since upgrading to
Slackware 4.0
(Kernel 2.2.6) which contains Samba 2.0.3 it is REALLY fast in both directions.
I now have it running on an Intel P133 and its outrunning Win95 networking when it was
on the
same machine. This also might be to do with upgrading to the latest glibc libraries
as well
though. I dont know.

Hello,

I need some help with glimpse.

I want to index our local newsgroups. The newsgroups entries have a
large header with informations, which should not be indexed. Now, there
is a file called .glimpse_filters where you can tell glimpseindex not to
index those lines of a file written in .glimpse_filters.

I was searching the web for example configurations of .glimpse_filters
and could not find anything. Does anybody know, how to configure this?

Thank,

Michael

There was someone who wanted to know what was the result of issuing 'nslookup'
command on my Linux box.&nbsp;&nbsp; Well here it is:
<p><tt>#nslookup 20.0.0.2</tt>
<br><tt>*** Can't find server name for address 20.0.0.1: No response from
server</tt>
<br><tt>*** Default servers are not available</tt><tt></tt>
<p>Incidently IP 20.0.0.1 belongs to the server that I am working on.
<br>&nbsp;
<p>Any suggestion on solving the problem?

<p>> Hi,
<br>> I have setup a small networking in my house.&nbsp; It consists of

server
<br>> (running Samba).&nbsp; Now all my machines can ftp and ping the Linux

<br>> No the strange thing is that only win95-2 (which has the IP 20.0.0.3)
