Well i myself still need to see just what is now included in 2.4, however if i
understand your question correctly then the most popular advancment is, or at
least i think so, new hardware support.

I know you are using SuSe but the following URL is very informative, i bet
suse.com has a simalar page if one looks for it. BTW, there is a section on the
above URL concerning the "kernel" its not all Redhat sales talk.
