Most all unsupported cards should work with the SVGA driver.

Did you not try starting it out of the box before playing with the
configuration, i thought Redhat 7.x does a standard configuration during
the install, it did here on my Compaq armada E500 P111 600mhz everything worked
out of the box including sound.

How did that kernel get there.???
Here i think is the problem, on the Redhat (7.1) CDrom #2 you will find;
XFree86-SVGA-3.3.6-35.i386.rpm
Your card shoud work with that driver.
