I presume that you have compiled your own kernel (2.4.4), it is to be found
under;
"Networking Options"
Say yes to the following,
Packet socket <CONFIG_PACKET>
Then yes to
Kernel/User netlink socket <CONFIG_NETLINK>
I suggest you read the IPCHAINS-HOWTO as i take it you are trying to do this
sort of thing, you only said "IP" command.
Or explain justwhat you want to do with "ip" as ip is more for <tunnel routing>.
