Greetings and thanks Lawson.. I, apparently, bypassed
the install of gimp not knowing what it was.. I'll try again..
Meanwhile you may want to fetch a copy of Slackware
8.1 from www.edmunds-enterprises.com.. $2.49 total including super
fast first class shipping and excellent communication.. I don't know
how they do it...
I noted two big changes right off the bat: No more
install with the boot/root floppies - only from CD.. And, the
packages now look like .rpm's with their super long filenames but
sans the actual .rpm extension. Patrick retained 'pkgtool'..
