GUI? Well, don't have a desktop environment (gnome, ximian, KDE, etc.), if that's what you mean, but simply run a window manager (iceWM). As for XFree86, I'm not sure because I'm sitting at the wrong machine, but it should be something like 4.2.0-72. I'm sorry I wasn't clearer in my original question. I don't want a script that simply creates a slideshow for the background image. I want to use a constantly changing image as it appears on a web site. That is, I want to substitute a URL for a background image file. I don't want to create my own slide show by downloading images, but use someone else's slide show.
