I've been hearing about Motif for a long time now, and I don't know what the
heck it actually is. I did a web search, and I wound up going to someplace
called the "Open Software Foundation", which certainly sounded promising.
The site has an "org" domain name, and they thank all these different software
companies for supporting them financially. When I clicked on Motif, on their
main menu, I was sent to a page which listed info on Motif. I clicked on how to
obtain a license, and I got a price list which said that a source code license
costs $17,000.00!!
I thought Motif was a WM. What WM is worth that kind of money?
Do you have to be running Motif to run programs which require Motif, or do you
just have to have the support files on your HD? Is there a way to get programs
which require Motif to work without spending a lot of money?
