Sounds like an IRQ conflict. Run setserial to see what your com ports are
configured for. If it shows 2 devices using the same IRQ, then you'll have
trouble.

Use this from root or su:

setserial -g /dev/cua0 /dev/cua1 /dev/cua2 (delete or add serial devices
as necessary)
