Which X server do you use? There is a S3V server that works, and the svga
server has some virge accelerations as well. I use an S3V based card with
no problems.

There is no free update, but some companies sell CDs with all free parts
of Red HAt (and others) on them. That means you don't get any commercial
software that't on the official CD. You could try www.cheapbytes.com, they
sell CD's for hust a few dollars (usually $1.99 + shipping and handling)
