Here is a link to the German page that may or may not be discussing a
fix for the problem.  I've done a lot of searching, and is seems that
Canon printers and Linux *can* be made to work, but I've found nothing
that even points me in the right direction.  In the Ghostscript
compatible printers list, for example, the BJC-600, is listed under
"supported" *and* under "Other" -- no explanations, however...
