It "does" bypass lilo, or you could say it has nothing to do with LILO at
all.
What you are seeing is the kernel image being booted from the floppy disk,
the "........." are letting you know that there is activity there from the
floppy disk, pierod.
As soon as the image is coplete you will hear your HD start to rammel and
text about booting will apier on your screen ending up with the login
prompt.
