This is a common problem when installing slackware, you possably chose to
install "everyting" which you are warned not to do at install time.

No doubt you have several window managers installed and the likes, which
you possably will never use, many screen savers games etc etc..

Other things you could delete (considering you have deleted all man-pages)
is the info system,
 /usr/info/* = +/- 4 meg.
 /usr/doc/* = +/- 16 meg.
 /usr/src/linux = +/- 27 megs (2.0.34) and round 40 megs after making a
kernel.

Or realy the best way would be to reinstall, only this time just install
disk sets a, ap, n and if needed the basic x disk sets.
This way, (you mentioned buying a slackware install cdrom) if a problem
arises with a new program (missing libs) or the likes, you can use
slackwares 'pkgtool' to install whatever is needed.

You can of course use pkgtool to 'uninstall' many of your presant 'unneeded
programs' and libs..
