I have problems with speed on my P2 300. I
am running RedHat Linux 5.1 on both a P2 233 and a P2 300 and even at the login
phase it takes a while to respond and ask for a password. I do not have
this problem with the P2 233.
I have recompiled the kernel on both machines
and on the 300 machine I have found a tool (can't find it on the 233) that has
mem usage, IRQ's currently active, Processor usage, etc. This seems to be
implying that I only have about 13mb of memory when I have 98mb. This
could be a red herring I just thought I'd mention it.
If anybody can help I would be most
grateful.
