Hi,
I've been running a Debian/Linux 2.0 (hamm) system for a couple of months.
I normally control my Linux system through a telnet window on my win95
machine (I have only one monitor for two computers).

Lately, when I try to edit using vi in a telnet window, the screen blanks,
and I can't see what I'm editing. I couldn't figure out what was wrong, so
I reinstalled nvi. The same thing still was happening.

Then someone mentioned that it could be because of the telnet window; I
switched the monitor over to the Linux box, logged in on the console, and,
lo and behold, vi was working perfectly.

So, it seems to be a problem with vi and the telnet window. Has anyone else
ever experienced this problem? If so were you able to resolve it? I'd
really like to figure this one out because switching my monitor cable every
time I'd like to edit a file is getting *old*.

Thanks in advance...

-David
