Because of your experience, I would suspect you will prefer Slackware since
you have almost total control at all times what is going on. I have tried
both Slack and RH and found the development parts (my main interest) of
Slackware to run out of the box but not RH. RH's support does not cover
what does not work after an install--only install failures themselves.
This seems to imply that these two things are never connected--which is
ridiculous.
