Hi,
I have a linux machine with Slackware 3.5 installed along with Kernel version
2.0.35.
During installation (i.e setup program of slackware) i have selected:
- x332s3v: from XFree86 Xwindows System (i.e X disk set), since i am using
video card with S3Virge chipset.
- Then documents etc etc from XFree86 Series.
Created /etc/XF86Config file using the xf86config command and selecting my
system hardware.
Then i installed Afterstep in my system.
Now from command line when i fire startx > ~/AF-debug 2>&1,
i get a blue screen like windows, i can open an xterm window, can read
afterstep docs from Netscape Navigator etc etc.
But my problem is:
- Exactly what is x332s3v ????
- What is afterstep ???
- What is startx ???
- What is xdm ???
- When "startx > ~/AF-debug 2>&1" is fired, in which sequence the
applications are run ??
