I am still having problems installing lilo and creating boot disks with RH5.1. I ended up blowing away my linux partitions on hdc and reformating partitions on hda. However, before doing that I reinstalled RH5.0 and rebooted. Lilo installed fine and I was able to boot to DOS and linux. Once that was done I istalled RH5.1 and changed the partitions. For some reason though I could still not create boot disks (I was able to create boot disks from the CD-ROM later) or install lilo. #?!$%!!!! 2 hours and I am back where I started or at least that is what I thought. Fortunately though, I get the lilo prompt and I am able to get to Win95 and linux. Why? What also confuses me is why I get to RH5.1 and it says kernel 2.0.31? RH5.1 uses kernel 2.0.34 and 2.0.31 is nowhere to be found. Is this a stupid newbie question? Also, there is no lilo.conf, anywhere. What makes this work? What do I change to make linux boot the 2.0.34 kernel? All help is greatly appreciated! Skip Haak
