I just want to thank everyone one more time for helping me get my PPP
working. now comes the tough part.
1) I'm trying to get my TV tuner working. it's an "intervision" (some
japanese company that can't afford to hire a decent translator for their
manuals)...not that the manuals were an issue. I was able to get
windows 95 to see it well enough...and the tv program was functional if
spotty. so I go over to linux, right? and I'm praying someone has
written drivers for it. I take apart my box and look at the chipset,
which says "Bt" in big letters and then "BT848" something. so I'm
thinking YAAAAYYY!!! it's supported!! only I can't get the damn driver
to compile. there's apparently a file..."vmalloc.h" I believe, that's
missing.
any help?

also...I've been having trouble with compiling and installing the gtk.
I installed it in my home directory (not root home) which was probably a
mistake...
where SHOULD I compile it?? there are a lot of programs that use it
that I can't get to run because they can't see it. (eg. the Gimp, gIcq,
etc)
danka!!
<grins>...I haven't booted to windows in 5 days....I feel ecstatic.
