To answer in one word, yes i have done it but that was so long ago i have
realy forgotten HOW i did it, please dont be disconcerted by my comments,

1) It might be easier to buy 2 cheapo seriel boards/ports.
2) PLIP the needed protocol to connect 2 machines via parallel ports, is
very dangerous to use IF you dont know what you are doing, you can destory
your controler with a misconfiguration, or the wrong cable, I thought i
once new what to do, however my board went up in smoke the first time i
tryed, (yes my own it was my fault), i did not RTFM properly before i
started.

Anyway, to achive your goal i suggest you read the NET-3-HOWTO.gz located
in the /usr/doc/faq/howto, use zless to read it. PLEASE read it carefully.

It contains wiring diagrams and explanes just what is needed to configure
the interface on the linux side, and in case of a remote DOS machine explans
what is needed for that also.

I cant seem to find my old config files either so i'm afraid i cant help
much further, only to say BE CAREFULL.

Now you may understand why i said;

 "It might be cheaper to buy a seriel card"

and a lot eaiser for that matter.
