i thought you needed a Win95 client, if you need unix client to do some
ftp, try ncftp (it comes with redhat and surely the other distrib too)
ncftp is a very nice ftp client (but in text mode).

I would reccomand wxftp. It features a simple to use X based GUI and is
able
to
download files recursively.
