Hey all, hope ya can help me out here-
I have no clue what info I need to give, so I'm hoping I give slightly too
much...
I've got this old IBM PS/2 Model 80 that I've put Slackware 3.5 on, with
kernel 2.1.103 (it's got better MCA support than 2.0 kernels). The PS/2
has a MCA architecture, so I had to use the MCA boot image for it, with
support for SCSI devices (SCSI HD). Recently, in an effort to do
something useful with it, I bought a Digital DEMCA ethernet adapter
DE210-AA. I installed it OK in the system, ran the IBM setup utility,
made sure it was in ok, then tried to see if the system would recognize
it. I booted up in Slackware and tried to get it to recognize the card.
Using ifconfig eth0, it says eth0: unknown interface. I then went over to
the Digital web site and searched for linux drivers for it, and it sent me
to a directory on their ftp server where the drivers for the card are
located. In the file for Linux drivers, there's only a Readme file saying
that the driver was included in the kernel starting with 1.1.61 and going
up, along with a phone # to call for more info. Tried the phone #, it was
disconnected/out of service. I can't get the kernel source on to my comp
cuz all I can use are floppy's and sneaker net. A friend tried using cpio
from another Linux box, but that didn't work either. Can anyone help me
out? (Pls don't say, "Just throw it away...") E-mail me directly at:
[EMAIL PROTECTED] if possible (with Monolith going down, not sure how
long this [EMAIL PROTECTED] thing will still be working...)
Thanks in Advance,
Rob
