I dont think you can do either, pty/tty pairs are locked when in use, if
you deleted the LCK file then possably the running program will exit and
possably leave zombies lying around, also it could leave some things in a
very unstable state.

Normaly programs which use pty/tty pairs can be configured to use certain
pairs.

I wonder why you would want to do this anyway.???
