Wine981211- Installantion Problem

I have RH5.2 installed
I untarred the file wine981211.tar.gz
I then did ./configure and then "make depend; make"
After that I did make install 
The last two lines I get are
/usr/bin/install /usr/local/bin/wine no space left on device
make: ***[install_emu] error 1

How do I get past this?
What do I uninstall SAFELY to make some space on the device?
