Hi learned ones, I have the following problem: When I try to connect to my ISP (Compuserve) , issue the ppp-on command, the modem dials and appears to connect however it disconnects after a while with errors that seem to be caused by the LCP setup on connection. I have checked out the PPP RFC and it would appear that the dialled location seems to be taking too long to send out its LCP packets however I have tried various methods to circumvent this mainly by adjusting the etc/ppp/options file but to no avail. Compuserve has a three stage authentication process whereby the computer name is solicited expecting a response of 'compuserve' before proceeding to the account and password details. Does anybody else have experience of connection problems related to compuserve and if so what can be done to make their seemingly proprietary authentication methods workable with linux pppd. My syslog gives the following errors when attempting to connect. Thanks in advance. Paul.
