Midnight Comander

When I try to run Midnight Commander I get the following error

tkmc: error in loading shared libraries
/usr/lib/libtcl.so: undefined symbol: stat

can any one tell me what this is and how I can fix it.

I am running RedHat 5.0 that was upgraded to 5.2.

I just installed GNOME
