You are talking "linux", linux is linux, be it slackware or Pink-bottom.

Slackware can be made to look like Redhat, and Redhat can be made to look
like slickware.

"Linux commands are Linux commands"
There are some small differencies in the directory hierarchy, between
distributions, resulting in some confustion about just what is "distribution
spesific".

The BIG differance is, the install programs and the "user friendly attitude"
of the distribution.
