Hi Jeff,
In my experience with X, if you have a card not listed in your
installation, you basically have to configure it yourself as all video cards
have different clocks and all that rubbish. The same with monitors, if it
is not listed, don't use the closest one on the list.. Configure it
yourself.. Monitors are easy, as the information you need is simply the
type (SVGA, non-interlaced SVGA etc., horizontal frequencies, and the
vertical frequencies.
You should be careful with video cards, if you use the wrong configuration
you can damage it.. I recently bought a new card and made sure before hand
that it was supported by Linux.. S3 Virge 4Mb.. I hope this was of some
