L.S.
First I thank everybody who helped me with my problem from 4-1-99.
Now I have a new problem trying to connect my ISP who uses chap.
I followed the instructions given in PPP setup tips (RedHat ?) v 3.0
February 1997.
When I activate my connection I can hear that my modem is dialing, making a
connection and terminating it.
In /var/log/messages I found the next information
ifup-ppp:pppd started for ppp0 on /dev/modem at 38400
kernel:CSLIP code copyright.. etc
:PPP:version 2.2.0 ( ..etc)
:PPP:PPP Dynamic channel ...etc
:PPP line dicipline registered
:registered device ppp0
pppd[488]:pppd 2.3.5 started by root,uid0

This was a long story. I am very grateful to everyone who can analyse it and
who can tell me what went wrong and where it went wrong.
Thanks
