i hope someone has an easy answer to this. i am using Red Hat 5.2 on my Toshiba Laptop with a Megahertz XJ4288 33.6K modem. i was using the KDE desktop and its PPP dialer for a while and had this problem once in a while, now i am using Blackbox and EZppp and it is all the time now. when i log in to my isp the first letter of my username gets cut off. i tried using minicom to log in manually, but i can't get pass the password. when it happened in KDE i could go in to configure and change the connect speed up or down and it would connect after that. i also could just reenter the login script and it would connect, those tricks have stopped working. i'm going to read the HOWTO's now to see if i can come across anything that might help, but wanted to try you all in the mean time. thanx. michael -- This mail was written by user of Arachne, the Ultimate Internet Client -- Arachne V1.44;beta, NON-COMMERCIAL version, http://home.arachne.cz/
