Hitting the "tab" key with lilo will produce a "menu" of defined kernel
images and operating systems, if they are defined in /etc/lilo.conf of
course and you reran lilo after updating that file.

The hammer on the head is written with "LI", the following is from
/usr/doc/lilo-!!!/README the -!!! is the version which you have installed.
LI The first stage boot loader was able to load the second stage boot
loader, but has failed to execute it. This can either be caused by a
geometry mismatch or by moving /boot/boot.b without running the map
installer.
The problem "could" be caused by the BIOS using the "autodetect" mode and
not entering the drive as a "LBA".
Check that the drive is detected properly. and is consisitant with what
Linux detects when using a boot-disk to boot your system.
I have has this very problem with both my drives
hda: ST32531A, 2439MB w/0kB Cache, CHS=4956/16/63
hdb: ST34321A, 4103MB w/128kB Cache, CHS=8894/15/63
I used at first the BIOS autodetect but after i had installed Linux and LILO
to boot linux i was greeted by the very same "LI" problem.
A very informative document to read is the README included in the lilo
documentataion directory, on Redhat systems thats /usr/doc/lilo-!!!/ as
explaned above.
Slackware is /usr/doc/lilo
Look also into /usr/doc/HOWTO/mini theres a file LILO with handy tips.
Slackware /usr/doc/faq/howto/mini
man lilo
man lilo.conf
