In the UK, you could only do this for houses on the same phase on your same
sun-station delivering your supply. Its also illegal to do so! There are
some RF
transcievers, which do ot require a license, but the distance is normally
limited
to within the same room.

There is also the packet radio - But you need a radio license (in the UK) to
use it.
